You may cancel your appointment, without charge, up to 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, cancellations will be charged 50% of the scheduled service price. If you do not call to cancel your appointment or do not show up to your scheduled appointment, you will be charged full price for the scheduled service.
Yes, you can book a float session on someone else's behalf, please add this information to the notes section when booking online or notify us when calling to book the appointment. However, we have a 'no surprise booking' policy for first time floaters. If you book a float session for someone else as a surprise gift instead of purchasing a gift card or certificate, please provide them 48 hours notice of the float session so they have enough time to prepare for their float session. The First Time Float preparations and FAQ's will need to be reviewed.
We do not recommend wearing a swimming suit to float because it will become uncomfortable during your session as the saltwater dries. You get your own private suite to change and shower before and after your float session.
Floating during pregnancy is a safe and effective way to reduce pain, stress and simply….relax, rest and rejuvenate. Floating is excellent for women in their 2nd or 3rd trimesters and the weightless environment can be beneficial to both you and your baby. Floating while pregnant takes the strain off your spine and feet, which can help with the aches and pains that normally occur when being pregnant. You can even create a deeper connection with your baby while you float as you experience a feeling similar to what your baby feels floating in your womb. We do, however, recommend that pregnant women avoid floating during the first trimester. If you have any concerns about the effects of floating on your pregnancy, we ask you to consult and get permission from your physician before you float.
If you have longer hair, you may want to bring a hair brush. Also, something to put your contact lenses into while you're in the tank. Other than that, we provide everything you need (towels, robes, earplugs, body wash, shampoo, etc.)

We have two float cabins. Float cabins can be described as an oversized tub with four surrounding walls (4' wide, 8' long & 8' tall ceiling so you can stand up in), similar to a walk-in bath tub or a room within a room. Click here for photos.
After logging in to your account with your email address and password, you can access your payment history by clicking on the My Account tab and then click on the Purchases tab. Your purchase history will then populate. Once you locate the certificate that was purchased, click View. You can download the gift certificate to be either printed or attach to an email, by clicking the Print Gift Certificate link.
No. The water is fully filtered 3-5 times between each float, passing through an intense filtration system for particulate matter. Ozone gas, a powerful oxidizer and disinfectant, is also injected into the water which kills all known bacteria, viruses, yeasts and a lot of other things you don’t want to know about. Furthermore, the Epsom salt solution is naturally sanitary; the combination of the high concentrations of Epsom salt and a small amount of disinfectant make it cleaner than a pool and nearly impossible for microorganisms to survive.
You're always in control of your environment. The float room that the tank is in is one that only you can lock. The door of the floatation tank itself opens easily from the inside and outside so you can get out anytime. The door can even be left open the first time if you like.
While there is no guarantee that the salt won't strip some color from your hair, we recommend that you check if the water running through your hair in the shower at home is fully clear. If there is still some color coming out you should wait a couple of more days. Also, if you have received a hair treatment, we recommend you bring a swimming cap to protect your hair treatment.
Yes. Just follow the same protocol you would for a swimming pool.
It is recommended that you do not have any caffeine (coffee, energy drinks, certain teas, etc.) for several hours beforehand as it can make you and your system jittery during the float. Also, not to shave or wax the day of your float since the salt water can irritate your skin. Eating a light meal about an hour to 90 minutes ahead of time stops your stomach from sounding like an angry monster while you float. Please also refrain from wearing any oils, lotions or perfumes/colognes, as some may have a sensitivity, and also sense of smell may be heightened after a float session. Most importantly...relax. The tank will help achieve this, but if you arrive relaxed, the experience will be more beneficial for you.
After selecting your appointment date and time, select the payment type as Gift Certificate/Card/Series.
Booking with a Gift Certificate or Gift Card, select from the drop down menu Evanston Float Center Gift Certificate/Card. You will then be prompted to enter the certificate/card number to finalize your appointment.
Booking with a Series, select from the drop down menu Evanston Float Center Series. If you are not logged into your account, you will be prompted to manually enter your series number to reserve the appointment, otherwise your series will automatically populate in the drop down menu.
**Please note that the booking number is different than the series number.** If you do not have your series number available to book online, you can login to your account, click on the My Account tab, then click on Series to book from your series account.
